There was once a time when people spoke of degenerate art. This meant works that the political class didn’t like. Admittedly, some of that genre is indeed a kind of graffiti, where one can’t really speak of art, but only of a lack of shame, and „degenerate art“ can be interpreted as a form of revaluation – but the action itself was somewhat degenerate.
Today, one can speak of „degenerate justice“ in a certain sense. Thus, the slogan „everything for Germany“ has been part of numerous political or patriotic groups since 1848 (EIGHTEEN FORTY-EIGHT), including, unfortunately, the SA in the Third Reich. This has now led the judiciary to consider the slogan punishable – a somewhat degenerate view, given its actual prevalence.
But not only that! Furthermore, it depends on who says it – and that’s actually even more degenerate. If Bernd Höcke says it, he’ll be convicted of incitement to hatred. If a quality journalist on state television says it, that’s just as acceptable as the slogan „Germany, die,“ which is really a call to throw this country in the trash.
It’s now dangerous to change one’s attitude towards certain things. The slogan „everything for Germany,“ freely uttered in the context of any kind of expression of opinion, from the mouth of an upright democrat (= a state-certified and quality-certified SPD voter) can have devastating consequences if the person in question suddenly votes for the AfD and it gets out. Then they don’t even need to say „everything for Germany“ anymore, because the old, then-admissible statement is retroactively declared punishable by the judiciary and prosecuted. Degenerate justice with an added bonus.
The problem of falling into the Nazi trap with any word is now irrefutable. After all, it can be assumed that almost every German word has been used by an avowed National Socialist at some point – and the simple term „Schäferhund“ (German Shepherd) for a beloved dog becomes grounds for a §130 German Criminal Code lawsuit, complete with a bathrobe-proof house search. What can be done about this degeneration? This post demonstrates one possibility: simply stop using German words! And there you have it, a bathrobe-proof post.
